Vice President Environmental & Land Management
Primary purpose:
To oversee the organization’s operations and activities regarding land, right of way, and environmental management. Responsible for managing the portfolio of real property interests for operating assets to meet the organization’s goals. Additionally, lead the environmental group focusing on the reclamation, remediation, and management of surface environmental matters related to the operations of assets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and implement strategic plans for land management and environmental initiatives.
- Provide visionary leadership to the environmental and land management teams.
- Collaborate with senior executives to align environmental and land management strategies with overall company goals.
- Lead land and environmental operations, establish goals, monitor performance, and evaluate results to ensure organizational objectives and operating requirements are met or exceeded.
- Foster a positive, open work environment that promotes a systems-based approach and disciplined execution.
- Manage personnel-related matters, including providing performance-based feedback, supporting employee development, and completing required administrative responsibilities.
- Demonstrate and reinforce the highest standards of professional integrity, ethics, and safety.
Land Management
- Plan, organize, and oversee land and right-of-way activities and staff, including the development and implementation of right-of-way processes and procedures.
- Oversee land-related legal matters, including title and deed transfers, construction matters, mortgage concerns, and zoning.
- Manage resolutions and other legal documentation related to land management.
- Oversee professional and technical activities associated with rights-of-way and other real property interests.
- Participate in, coordinate, and oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and administration of property rights and interests, including easements, leasehold interests, fee interests, licenses, and permits related to operating assets.
- Provide support and assist legal counsel in the defense of land-related litigation, as needed.
Environmental Management
- Lead the environmental team in managing reclamation, remediation, and other environmental matters associated with operating assets.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting environmental protection and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable surface environmental regulations and standards.
- Promote and reinforce a strong culture of regulatory compliance.
Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable environmental and land management regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and represent the company on environmental and land management matters.
Risk Management
- Identify and mitigate risks related to land and environmental management.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and contingency plans.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, regulatory agencies, and community groups.
- Effectively communicate the company’s environmental and land management initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of five (15) years’ direct work experience in a similar role may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- A minimum of five (15) years’ experience in Corporate Development within the energy sector.
· Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
Competencies, Skills & Abilities:
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Extraordinary organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
· Proficient accounting and financial skills.
· Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, and follow company policies.
· Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines and prioritize work.

Compensation: Compensation ranges are provided in good faith based on what we anticipate when researching wages for this position at the state and national levels. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
